About the event

To celebrate Jewish Heritage Month and Asian Heritage Month in Canada, the Adler Project, joined by the Lidelun Music Foundation, will present at Temple Kol Ami, to speak about several Jewish musicians living in China who escaped the Holocaust during World War II and taught classical music to young Chinese students.

Two such musicians were Fang Sheng’s father, Sheng Mingliang, a violinist in the China National Symphony, and Li Delun, conductor in the same orchestra.

Li Delun’s granddaughter, Rosalind Zhang, a professional cellist and Fang Sheng, an amateur violinist, joined by Temple Kol Ami's member, professional oboist Wendy Bornstein, will be performing at this presentation.
